Adventist Secondary School, Kumasi

GOAL

The Adventist Philosophy of Education, which emphasizes the provision of a true and balanced kind of education that incorporates the individual’s physical, mental, moral, and spiritual well-being, served as the foundation for the school’s founding. In summary, the Adventist educational concept emphasizes developing the Hand, Heart, and Head.

AIM

Since the school’s founding, our main goal has been to provide Ghanaian students with a holistic education in line with the church’s educational philosophy. Ultimately, the school aims to imbue the children of Ghana with the dignity of labor, which can only be attained via formal education, and to provide them with the necessary skills to enter the workforce and prepare them for the afterlife, or Heaven.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL

The S.D.A. congregations in Kumasi founded Adventist Senior High School, also known as Adventist Day Secondary School, in 1983. Eighty pupils were divided into two sections. Up until 1994, it functioned as a private mission school before being absorbed into the public education system. To accommodate the demands of the boys who desired to live on campus, the boys’ dormitory was constructed in 2003. This necessitated changing the school’s name to reflect its new status by removing the word “day.” A dorm for girls is to be built, according to plans. The following programs are offered by the school as courses. Home economics, business studies, visual arts, general science, and general arts
